Story Notes:
This story is dedicated to my wonderful beta, Aglarien, to say "Thank you" for all that you do!

The characters and world belong to the Master himself, Tolkien. I am only borrowing them so they can come out and frolic a bit, not intending any copyright infringement of any sort. I do own my original characters, but they are available for parties!

Author's Chapter Notes:
What do two elves do during “alone time”?

A/N: In this story, Sídhiel is twenty years old. From the elvish age chart I snagged from the Erestor_Lovers group, that makes her the equivalent of a nine and one-half year old human. I personally believe that the elves were in general very intelligent, so the younglings in my stories are brighter by far than the average human child of their equivalent years.

Laer, Imladris, 2823 T.A.

“Elladan! Wait! Please wait up!” Sídhiel was running down the path to catch the dark haired ellon before he could give her the slip.

“She has you now, Tôr. I shall stay close in case you need to be rescued.” Elrohir had to restrain himself from laughing out loud at his twin’s expression.

Groaning, Elladan turned, and plastered a warm smile on his face. “Sídhiel, why are you not playing with your friends today?”

“They are all busy.” She pouted. “Mel and his mother are away visiting his aunt, something about the history of bees wearing quilts, or weaving kilts, or something like that.” Grimacing, she continued, “And, Lindir and his adar are ‘bonding’; not sure what that means, but they’ve gone into the woods to shoot things. Could I play with you today, instead?” She smiled sweetly up at him.

Elrohir whispered into his twin’s ear, “Now how could you resist such a sweet request? Come find me when you are done ‘playing’, Muindor.”

“Oh, no! You are staying with me. With us.” Elladan grabbed his brother’s arm, and answered the child; he usually found he could not resist her entreaties. “Of course you can, pen dithen. ‘Roh and I were just going swimming since it is too hot today for much else. We will wait here while you run and get a towel and swim clothes.”

Hearing that she would need to go back to her room, the child’s face fell. “Oh. I guess I can’t go then.”

At Elrohir’s delighted smile, Elladan scowled at his twin. “Why ever not? We will wait for you.”

“Adar told me not to come back until after dinner. He and Ada would be furious with me if I disturbed them again.”

“Ah, I see. When did your adar get back from patrol?” Exchanging knowing glances and smiles, the twins realized what must be going on in their quarters, since Glorfindel had been away on patrol for over a month.

“Late last night. I didn’t know he was home until I found them in front of the fire... Really! I didn’t mean to bother them! I was just thirsty and couldn’t sleep… And, Ada always sings me back to sleep... I’m not sure what they were doing, but they were kissing and they weren’t talking! Adar was unhappy when Ada got up and tucked me back into bed and sang to me… First thing this morning Adar told me that I ‘must make myself busy for the entire day’.” Sídhiel blurted the whole story out without even taking a breath, and she still wasn’t finished. “What are my adas doing and what is ‘alone time’, Elladan?”

Elrohir smiled broadly at Elladan’s dumbstruck face and Sídhiel’s innocent expression. “Oh, Tôr, please hold your answer until I return. I will get some things for Sídhiel and meet you at the Bruinen. I must hear how you get out of this one.” He hurried off, afraid that he would hurt the child’s feelings if he laughed out loud at her earnest question.

“You heard ‘Roh, we can talk about other things until he catches up.” Reaching down, he clasped the small hand in his and delighted in the brilliant smile she rewarded him with.

Smiling mischievously, Erestor leaned up on one elbow and began to trace circles on Glorfindel’s back. Leaning over, he nibbled on an exposed ear tip. Glorfindel groaned, and turned his head, so that he could look into his mate’s sparkling brown eyes. “More? You are insatiable, meleth.”

“Ah, we have an entire day alone thanks to you pushing our fledgling out of the nest. I do not wish to waste a single moment of it.”

“Maybe I was too hasty. I missed Sídhiel, too, you know.”

Erestor straddled Glorfindel’s buttocks and, leaning over, began to lick a trail down the Elda’s back, relishing the salty taste. “Nay, it was a brilliant move. She will make herself busy all day and we can spend time together as a family after the evening meal.”

Trying to bank his growing desire, the blond asked, “But what if I hurt her feelings? Made her think I was not glad to see her?”

Erestor growled, and replied, “Hush, or I will find a better use for that mouth of yours. Sídhiel will be fine. I made sure she knew we would need some alone time once you returned.” Spreading the firm globes before him, the darkling elf dove into the task at hand, reveling in the spicy, musky flavor, and almost instantly all thoughts of his iell were banished from the blond’s head, as he was driven to the heights of pleasure.

After thoroughly teasing his mate, but never allowing his release, Erestor slowly entered the Elda, savoring the feel of the tightly clenching muscles as he pushed in. “Gods! You are so tight, melethron, we need to do this more often.”

Glorfindel could not reply as he was delved into repeatedly, until his lover grasped him firmly and insured that they both reached the pinnacle and flew off together; their hearts beating in tandem and their united fëar soaring through the heavens on wings of golden light.

The two elf lords walked into the Hall of Fire and were puzzled by their reception as they received more than a normal amount of broad smiles and even a lone cat call. When Sídhiel caught a glimpse of them, she squealed in delight and raced over to be grabbed in Glorfindel’s strong embrace and swung in a wide circle. “I missed you, Adar!”

“I missed you, too, pen dithen. It is good to be home.” Glorfindel hugged his daughter tightly and blew a raspberry on her neck, provoking loud giggles.

After being placed down, Sídhiel pulled them over to a settee near Elrond, the twins, and Saelbeth as she began to chatter loudly. Erestor grabbed two glasses of wine as they passed a serving maid. “Adar, are you and Ada done with your hand-to-hand wrestling training now? Or will you need more ‘alone time’ to practice?” Blissfully unaware of the shocked expression on her adars’ faces and the chuckles and light laughter around her, she kept talking, and embarrassed them further. “I don’t mind if you need another day to practice your… what was it again? Let’s see… Grasping? Grabbing? Grappling? Yes! That’s it. Your grappling techniques.”

The snickering in the background was growing, and Glorfindel began to look abashed, so Erestor tried to silence his daughter with a stern word. “Sídhiel.”

“What? But there was one thing that confused me, Ada. Why would you need Adar to teach you how to sheath your sword? That doesn’t seem so hard to learn, but Elrohir swore that it was hard to be sheathed. I just don’t understand.” Glorfindel choked on his wine and Erestor turned to glare at the swiftly retreating backs of Elladan and Elrohir, who, upon hearing Sídhiel’s interpretation of their ‘explanations’, had begun laughing and raced out of the Hall. They knew they needed a big head start and should probably stay out of the advisor’s path for a few days, but the look in his eyes and the seneschal’s expression had been worth the trouble they were obviously in.

By this time, even Elrond struggled to contain his laughter; looking from Erestor’s wide eyes, to Glorfindel’s sheepish grin, to Sídhiel’s puzzlement, only served to make him smile broadly and chuckle lightly.

Sídhiel was confused at the laughter and the twins’ hasty departure. “Did I say something funny, Adar?”

Glorfindel lifted the child into his lap and hugged her, as he gently laughed at his mate’s glowering visage. “Nay, not at all, my sweet, the twins were simply acting out while you were talking. Have no fear, your Ada will make sure the twins learn to behave better once he catches up to them on the morrow.”

Turning to Saelbeth, the Elda said, “And, yes, I do believe that babysitting exchange you proposed earlier would work out for the best, since the twins do not seem to be such good influences.”

“Babysitting? I’m not a baby, Adar.” Sídhiel pouted with all her considerable skill.

“Are you sure you would not enjoy sharing a sitter now and again with Melpomaen?” Glorfindel always knew how to cajole his daughter into agreeing with anything he proposed.

“Ooh, does that mean that I would get to spend the night at Mel’s house sometimes?” The child was thrilled to spend more time with one of her best friends.

“Yes, if you can tolerate having a ‘babysitter’, that is.” Erestor tried to be firm with Sídhiel, but her radiant smile and large blue eyes easily undid all his best intentions.

Sídhiel snuggled happily into Glorfindel’s lap as Erestor brushed wayward curls from her face. “If it makes you happy to call it babysitting, Ada, that is fine, but I am no longer a baby.”

Soft music began to swell around the elves as the minstrels returned from their break, and Erestor watched as his daughter’s eyelids grew increasingly heavy. Smiling indulgently at his mate as he tightly held the little auburn haired body and rocked her gently to the music, the darkling elf sighed in contentment. His world was complete once again.
